I am a social worker working for a nonprofit. Without doxing myself, my employer recently received major funding cuts that have caused staff lay offs.
Luckily I was not one of the people who were effected by the lay offs, but one of my coworkers directly was. The entire process of how this has been done is so vile and evil. They would not tell us who was laid off, but rounded us up in a room and had us find out through process of elimination of who was not present. I am planning an exit straight from this place as fast as possible.
I was only saved from this lay off round due several factors that I have put together on my own: My current workload is one of the largest ones in the department and it would be a nightmare to replace me or spread out my responsibilities, and I have a background experience and licensures in subjects that have been proven valuable to this organization. Essentially, losing myself as an employee would be detrimental to this company.
But if I’m going out though, I’m going out in the blades of glory. Which is why I am here: what can I do while leaving that will hurt this place the most? This place plays dirty and I’m looking to play dirtier.
TLDR: work is laying people off, they have been treating everyone like shit. How do I leave and make this place hurt?
