Recently in my state there was a large lake effect snow advisory that quickly turned into a travel ban for the area. My job was “essential” during the pandemic for being a pharmaceutical company.
The county executive of my state has said multiple times it is illegal for a job to make you go to work during the ban unless you are essential (police, fireman, hospital etc) However my job closed this past Friday and Saturday. Center manager wanted to open so on Sunday my coworker came in with his child has due to mine and my coworkers job title we can only open the business if one of us is there.
My job does not allow children in the building due to the “pharmaceutical” business it is however the “need” to open was so “dire” that my coworker went into work with his 6 month old baby.
