Hey guys. I’ve worked at a phone store a for a few years and we just had some management moving around. My new manager took me to the backroom and explained that we are now going to tell every customer that the phones they buy come with insurance (a little less than $20 a month for context) and that they can remove it if they want.
The phones DO NOT come with insurance. It is a choice. I have ironically taken ethics training, mandated by my employer, to not do this exact type of thing.
I have dozens of regulars, some folks on disability, social security, lots of sweet old ladies. And I now have to bs to them about the “new policy”. And they will believe it, because I am their ‘professional’ sales consultant.
I’m in no position in my life to stir the pot. This just sucks.
