Employer says I need to be “perfect” at my job

Gonna vent here… So short story, been stuck at this job for some time. Horrible company but I need to buy time while I’m out interviewing. Till then it’s my responsibility to do my job, but everyone is giving me their job because they are super lazy. I told them I was being overwhelmed so to “buy” me some more time they took away my lunch hour so I could focus more on their job. When I got burnt out and decided to look at my phone for 5 mins, since I have no breaks, they yelled at me and told me how overwhelming their job is and how this is a never ending job. So short story, been stuck at this job for some time. In addition, I was told I need to be “perfect” which means zero mistakes at what I do. Yet, the moment I improve in a task they add more to my workload stating that I can handle more. Then they get mad I can’t perform my original task.

It is nearly impossible to be perfect and if I was, I definitely wouldn’t be working here. Regardless I keep my mouth shut and do my job. Meanwhile they make mistakes 24/7 and blame it on me to corporate as if it was my fault. Saddest part is HR encourages this behavior and is partly to blame. This is just the tip of the iceberg. What makes it worse is when I interviewed with them they lied to me the entire time about my work responsibilities and have changed my original contract 5 times. They do not reimburse for gas mileage, I have delivered personal letters of my coworkers to the mail office, plus much more butler stuff. Would quit but I have bills to pay ofc.

I’m still new to the corporate world, but is this normal? Is it normal that your coworkers want you to make no mistakes?

Edit: Might be hired by one of the best companies in the world for my majors industry. They have treated me so kindly and respected me as an adult it’s shocking. I really wish more companies were like this.
