I'm a server at a restaurant that just got bagged into paying 900k in back wages(State NH) I wasnt effected in that mess. My manager swiched over to paying tips in a seprate check almost a year ago. Fine. They said we'd get a check every Friday. It usually was 2 weeks. Fine, still in the pay range of the checks.
Ever since the article came out as national news(it was EVERYWHERE). We have been being owed 2 to 3 weeks of tips. Last week even oweing 3 weeks of tips they only paid 2..
Now comes the next tip check I'm owed. 3 weeks. 2 weeks of work has been paid in the pay check but not a tip check, so I'm owed tips from the week of June 5th to the present date. I understand there paying back the goverment for their mess up but I have nothing to do with that as I'm a regular employee but i feel like theyre slacking to pay employees because they're paying so much back.
Would you report this to your states Labor Department?
