My girlfriend had an interview today with a high profile tv based shopping channel for just customer service and phone order taking. She called me directly after the interview excited that she got the job offer. She then told me the requirements for the job. For $15 an hour (which is god awful in the state of Florida) you have to work the worst schedule possible, provide your own computer, have a business landline installed and buy a headset. What kind of company in 2022 is so archaic that they dont have a secure internet softphone system? It is nearly impossible to get a landline in our area, let alone a business one. In a job market like this companies are beyond out of touch. If you want employees, YOU have to provide the essential working materials. It is not the candidates responsibility. Tell your grandma to stop buying from TV shopping channels.
