Example: If you worked on the 1st-14th of the month, and you get paid every 2 weeks, you probably don’t get paid until the 20th.
Effectively, you gave your labor in advance for 19 days, (then 18 days, then 17 days, and so on), and you don’t get paid interest.
Meanwhile, God forbid you ever need an advance on your paycheck, or a loan, or anything where you would like to pay late without incurring penalties and fees. Could you imagine paying your rent 19 days after it was due?
It’s even worse if you get paid monthly. Fuck the system and for taking all the bargaining power in everything we do.
