My hairdresser is a 40yo immigrant from China, and she had to go to 1 year of schooling accruing $20k in debt, along with a year of lost earnings, just to be licensed to cut hair! (I'm in California). I know some basic safety is needed, but CA requires 1,800 of schooling to cut hair or do nails. That seems insane to me.
Insofar as less debt & more earnings helps you become post-economic, this seems like an easy improvement to help people escape the rat race.
What are some thoughts on this line of reasoning?
