I (35f) work at company A where I am on a two-person team with Bob (m60). Bob started four months before me and still doesn't know how to do much. I have taught Bob everything from how to make a Google cal invite to how to do other basic tasks around the office. I also get to the desk earlier than Bob, because he tends to have Boomer tantrums on other people in our company regarding paperwork. A Boomer tantrum is defined as being a huge pill about things that will totally work themselves out. If I get there before Bob, I can start my day without a tantrum because I have sorted everything out. Bob is technically my supervisor, but he can't really explain the processes that are computer based. Our company is very technology driven.
Bob and I have roughly the same qualifications. The thing to note here is Bob is the all-American masculine dude. He looks like a manager from head to toe. However, he is taking off all of Christmas week in the hospitality industry and never volunteers to do night audits when the person calls out. I will work Christmas week and cover for the night auditor. It's hard to notice what a young woman has to do to make her way and what a white masculine male gets away with? From time to time, Bob goes so far as to rip a piece of paper out of my hand if he feels he wants to start looking like my manager. Today I finally snapped and told him how I'm mad that I get paid less than him to do 50% of the work. I really don't think he gives a ship about equality.
AITA for pointing out I get paid less to do 50% of the work on the team??
