I'm trying to secure another job because the situation in my current position is untenable. I work for an employment company as a contractor and got placed at a very small training firm. Some of the work I do doesn't require any client interaction, but some of the work does. But because of how my boss is hired by the clients, most of the time I'm not allowed to interact with the client – they think he's doing the work. Fine, it's fine – no, not really. Truthfully, it feels kind of icky, but hey, he only bills for the hours I work so, I'm just trying to get through what I promised and then I thought I would move on sometime before the end of the year. But now, he's been hired by at least two firms as a contract employee working (and getting paid for) full-time hours! With benefits! And guess who's doing all the work? That includes all the onboarding and corporate training. I laughed my ass off through the ethics training today. I want to quit, but I have a rather large expense coming up and I want to finish off the work for the client I started off with. The only reason I'm working on the “full-time” client, is my coworker (who was an actual employee of the company, as opposed to me the contractor) left for a week of vacation and never came back. I'm stressed out because this situation is wrong. But then I need the money. But I don't think I'm going to last the week, let alone the month.
Thanks for listening.
