Okay so as I understood it, generally speaking, employer isn't required to give any notice or reason and same applies for employee.
So why do so many people give two weeks notice? Why do you give any notice? It's just straight up baffling to me. The laws are very different here (Finland) and I'm usually required by law to give two weeks notice, but if the door goes both ways in the states, what's the point? Especially on the posts here the odds are that your employer won't say anything very positive about you if you put them as referral so there's no need to not burn any bridges. If they don't save your ass for even a day, why would you save their ass for two weeks?
