I worked at a this company for 4 days before I realized that it was a sinking ship and quit during my shift. I was supposed to receive a check in the mail but I never received it. I emailed my boss and he told me it was returned and they would send it ASAP. I received it, cashed it, and then it bounced. I emailed him again telling him it bounced. He informed me the company had cancelled the check through Paychex. I waited a few days for an update, emailed him asking for an update, and it's been 4 days with no response. Now my bank account is in the negative and I'm out 499 dollars. This is in California, is there anything I can do?
