I have been working for my family (pharmacy) for the past 10 years, it's mostly been a way to put myself through school the past 5 years though. Things have been going downhill: I got a management degree, asked my grandfather (owner) for a raise, informed him of my mother (management) being paid 3x my rate for me to do her job, and got fast tracked to everyone's (family and non-family) shitlist after I started acting my wage and hired responsibilities after being told I have no future in the business, etc.
I started to notice that the new pharmacist is clocking herself in at 15 minute increments, which I thought was odd because we have been told for as long as I've been working there that the minimum is 30 minute increments. I copied the timesheets at the end of each pay period since December 2021 for my personal use and the thought came to mind to calculate how many hours I worked and compare them to the number of hours paid (my pay stubs).
I've been shorted hours here and there every two or three weeks consistently and am now wondering how many hours I've been cheated. I intend to keep track of future hours and find past year's time sheets to compare. I'm freaking out because I might actually have cause to think that they've been shorting paychecks for 20 years.
Believe me when I know that I've needed to leave and do something else for a long time now, but I need to report this (IL) and gtfo. I knew my family has been fucking me over for a long time, but not like this.
I'm posting this here because it's just past midnight and I need to get this off my chest so I can calm down and sleep.
