I will try to make this short, but no promises. At this coffeeshop chain (which may or may not be having union issues), we use an app where we can check our schedule. Last week, I looked at mine and it said I worked tomorrow. However, when I looked again today, I was taken off the schedule. I didn't think much of it because there have been a lot of scheduling issues (that's another story), so I made plans. Then later today, I get a notification saying I was added back on the schedule for tomorrow. Confused, I texted my manager saying I was under the assumption I didn't work, so I made plans and won't be able to come in tomorrow. She then calls me and starts to blame me for the conflict. She says that I should know better than to think they'd just take me off the schedule like that (no, I don't know that) and it was an accident, so I shouldn't have assumed I didn't work (even though that's what the schedule said earlier). I asked why she couldn't have let me at least know about the issue and she responded saying that because it was an accident and was fixed, they shouldn't have to. I should've called when I saw I was taken off the schedule. Basically saying it was my fault I thought I didn't work because “I should've known better”. I went back and forth with her for a little bit, but in the end she made me feel not respected and she is making me come in tomorrow. I wouldn't show up, but I'm going to because I know how much it sucks for my fellow coworkers when we're down a person. I am leaving the store in a few days anyways, so I won't have to deal with her anymore. I just needed to put this out there because I am still fuming about it. Why should I feel blamed for your scheduling issue and then made to work because of it?
