So… you guys are always posting horror stories so I'll share mine.. I used to work for a famous SUB shop as the general manager. One day construction crews outside burst a water main and we had no water. I knew we had to close due to food service places need running water in order to operate. So I called my district mgr to let him know before I closed up. He literally told me: “fuck no you're not closing! You have water in the back of the toilet you can use! You do NOT ever close your store! ”
To which I told him, “fine, I'll just call the health dept and see what they say about it”
Called them, they obviously told me under no circumstances should I remain open. And I gave him my dm's name and number. I called my dm back with the news and could tell he was pissed but he said”fine”…I closed up shop and then me and my whole team left our uniforms and a letter saying we all quit and walked out…
