Favouritism

I am a new employee working in a place with six other individuals who have been there for over a decade. I do find it a bit of a red flag there is such a jump in how long I've been there. None of the in-between employees have lasted. It seems that I am expected to follow a more strict set of rules than my coworkers. They will always be on their phones, but I get comments that I should be doing something at all times. I strongly believe this has to do with a bias females have on women with children. My coworker has two small children and it seems the manager let's them get away with everything due to this. I feel I am not privy to the same treatment as I don't have kids- but I do have a father sick with cancer who I am the…

None of the in-between employees have lasted. It seems that I am expected to follow a more strict set of rules than my coworkers. They will always be on their phones, but I get comments that I should be doing something at all times. I strongly believe this has to do with a bias females have on women with children. My coworker has two small children and it seems the manager let's them get away with everything due to this. I feel I am not privy to the same treatment as I don't have kids- but I do have a father sick with cancer who I am the POA for and he has trouble speaking, which means I do some communications for him.

How do you handle this? I am also going to start looking for something else as my gut tells me this workplace will become more toxic in time

Also, I get paid peanuts and I'm sure these people are making at least twice what I make if not more
