Fed up with inconsistency

This is gonna take some explaining to fully understand the situation but I want to express my full frustration here. I’m a robotics engineer. I work for Company A (relatively small company), which contracts us out to other companies. I was working from home in simulation when Company A’s CEO calls me to inform me that starting the next day I’ll be working for Company B who is being hired by Company C for a job. Fine, whatever, not like I have much of a choice. On this project are six people total from Company A, four of them (including myself) are robotics engineers. There’s enough work for a while at Company B’s prep facility, and some people shift over when production begins at Company C’s plant.

A week before a vacation which I have a month’s notice for, Company B asks me to cover second shift at the plant. I had no real plans that week so I said yes, asking to be informed about what the working situation would be for when I returned as soon as they knew.

I have to text and ask on Sunday morning because no one told me, and I was told I would be working second shift again. I informed Company B on Monday that this would be the last week that I would be able to do so.

Guess who got scheduled for second shift again?

I texted the CEO of Company A and asked if he had anything for me next week. I refuse to come in but I’m scared of the consequences or what to say. Company B might bitch me out or Company A might get angry and fire me. I’m standing up for myself but it’s hard and this whole instance has just cranked my anxiety up. I’m already looking for a new job so hopefully I can find one soon, with better pay, more benefits, and most importantly, more consistency.
