Part of my job is setting up work experiences for high school students. I've been trying to place one student since February–it's taken so long for a combination of reasons including: I have no idea what I'm doing (it's the first time I've done this and I was kind of expected to figure it out on my own), the student isn't a great fit for the program so it's hard to find a business that would be good match for him, and my boss keeps assigning me other tasks so I don't have the time to work on finding the placement.
Earlier this week, the teacher who referred this student reached out and asked about the work placement. My bosses response to this was to set a two week deadline to get it done with no real explanation of what would happen if I fail. She's been completely unwilling to help in any when I've tried to ask. I'm wondering now if she's planning on firing me.(I'm actively looking for another job and kind of emotionally burnt out with my current job so I'm kind of just annoyed that that was her solution)
