Feeling disrespected …

Possibly not the right sub, but here we are … The question: Is it really “a promotion”? Scenario: Employee is told they were promoted. Reality: Job title changed from ”Senior Blahbliddityblah” to “Manager Blahbliddityblah”, but with no compensation change. Backstory: – Employee has been at this company 10+ years. Received equity adjustment approx. 6 months ago … but that was to make them whole for the one job they were doing … Division director and both managers have left in the last year … said employee stepped into the gap to ensure the work got done due to loyalty / work ethic … Were they wrong to have assumed this “promotion” would have included a raise, even if it was a small one? No added benefits. Added responsibilities.
