Feeling exploited at my job

Hey all – mobile here so apologies for formatting issues. I work in an agency (media) where I first started doing work on some designs and such – Photoshop and all. On my payslip was mentioned my role and all was fine. Then the agency started to assign me (with my consent) more responsibilities in other fields – admin, b2b, sales, customer service. My bosses frequently tell me I’m saving their asses, I am a workhorse, can do everything so well etc… So after a year of working there, I esteemed that my responsibilities greatly changed and increased.

My bosses frequently tell me I’m saving their asses, I am a workhorse, can do everything so well etc…

So after a year of working there, I esteemed that my responsibilities greatly changed and increased. On yearly eval boss said he would increase everyone at least inflation.

So I tried nicely asking my boss about it and at first got a meager 5%. I asked him why – since they always go around flaunting my usefulness and ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY RAISED OTHERS 10%. He told me he doesn’t feel as if I should be getting a massive raise – he sees it as me simply moving roles without any added responsibilities.

Obviously, I was fuming inside. I’ve set up a CRM, I have a ton of responsibilities, I have sold myself short many times and directly made the agency a bunch of profit. It seems they don’t realize how crucial I have become pay-wise – they’ll give me all the responsibility and a very small increase, despite going on about how they want to treat everyone right.

My pay raise is still ambiguous as hell. Last pay boss pays me increased rate, this one he just put down my old rate. Is this legal in Canada?

Alas, I have tried speaking in good faith. Boss sings the same song: He’s too busy, all the time. I don’t feel listened to and it honestly feels like he’s holding it against me that I am working less due to school.
