Finally realized my company isn’t what I thought. I’ve worked for over a decade and earned multiple promotions. Recently interviewed for another one in a different city. Cost of living there is more than 30% more than where I live now. They offered me less than a 6% increase. I’m disgusted and struggling with giving them anything close to my “normal” effort. I like my job (for the most part, less lately) and some benefits are great. I also have really good job security due to high turnover in our industry and my length of experience. But I can’t see a future anymore with raises consistently running behind inflation. I feel stuck.
