Fired at the end of my shift after basically being shortchanged.

I worked at Applebee's a few weeks ago. I'd been there about four months and some change, maybe five. When I was hired, my pay was $7.25 plus tips as the Hostess. After a few paychecks, I noticed my pay went down to $4 and hour! I waited a bit because I was too scared of getting fired but eventually demanded to know why my pay had been cut without even being told. The general manager told me that I was supposed to be making $4 instead of $7. This was after my hours had already been cut to two days a week instead if the five I started with! (Note: All this started happening after the new management came in. Should've seen it coming but as a 19-20 year old, I was ignorant to how crappy a workplace could be) The general manager brought my pay back up to…

I waited a bit because I was too scared of getting fired but eventually demanded to know why my pay had been cut without even being told. The general manager brought my pay back up to $7.25 but when I asked if I could be payed back for what was wrongfully taken from me, he said and I quote,” Oh, nah, you can't get that back. Technically, you're only supposed to be making four an hour, but I out you back at seven cause I'm a nice guy”

I wanted to drop kick him, but I my conscious told me not to and just continue my shift.

A few weeks later, I was already dreading coming back to work the day after, but at the end of my shift as I was .2 seconds from clocking out, the GM pulled me and another manager into the office saying he needed a witness before telling me “In the state of GA, I'm not legally obligated to give you a reason as to why I'm firing you. This is your last day, so you can go ahead and clock out.”

I was exhausted from standing all day, had a headache, and was on the verge of tears because I didn't understand why. I would've asked, but figured he wouldn't tell me anyway so I just left. I'm a people pleaser, so I started wracking my brain thinking I'd done something wrong. Fortunately, I had the realization that I was basically making Lyft money while working there, so it was for the better.

I hate Applebee's now.
