I had been working for a small residential builder for about a year and a half. hired as a contractor but of course I was definitely an employee in practice. I guess that is a separate gripe. so 8 months ago my boss hires a guy to operate some heavy equipment. I find out very quickly he has been to prison for shooting someone over drug related shit. he has personally produced speed. this guy is dangerous. so for the last two months he has decided to start threatening me, holding my work up intentionally, etc. I reported this to my boss. my boss after hearing yet again I've been explicitly threatened with violence, decides the best course of action is to fire me. I just received a raise a few months ago, I was stunned. this guy can't hire another operator? i live in an at-will state and I was hired on a contractor basis so I assumed I couldn't do anything but the more I think about it the more upset it makes me I lost my job for no god damn reason
