I just got let go last week after disclosing my TBI to my supervisor when we had a meeting about their “concerns.”
She and her supervisor teared up as they fired me, because they doubt I’ll be able to handle a normal caseload. It goes to show, people are alienated from their own moral judgement because we’re all up against the threat of homelessness, some more than others.
I’m not certain of what recourse I have, given how Washington is an at-will employment state. This is hardly the first job I’ve lost once I disclosed my disability.
