fired.. for catching covid.

So I was an assistant store manager for a major Pizza chain. I had worked from the ground up, started off as a driver within six months they promoted me to shift leader, six months after that they promoted me to shift manager, and then just a couple months after that they promoted me to assistant general manager. Not trying to say Im better then anyone. I showed up on time every shift. Never called in, Never had complaints about me. Had a great working relationship with everyone. Got a new district manager about 6 months ago. She decided that the management team was the problem in the store that's the reason sales were down and speed wasn't fast enough. Although in that six months she had cut me down to a skeleton crew generally I was the only one in the store or me and one other person with…

Although in that six months she had cut me down to a skeleton crew generally I was the only one in the store or me and one other person with one or two drivers. Of course complaints about speed started rolling in and with such a small Skeleton Crew I was unable to keep the normal speeds of making food.

January of this year I contracted covid-19 I got it real bad because I didn't get vaccinated like a dumbass. I ended up in the hospital after two weeks with a covid related anaphylactic Style swelling of the throat. It required two epipens in a massive dose of Benadryl, like seriously it was a turkey baster amount it look like.

After that was all said and done I was finally healthy after about three weeks total, and returned to work. The third day after I return to work I was terminated without notice, without write up, without anything. The reason I was given was a customer complained because they were unable to get fried chicken wings because I had turn the fryer off for the night.

This complaint was from five minutes before closing and I had explained to the customer about the situation but they just put in the complaint which is their right.

So yeah after two-and-a-half years of employment and they offered to have me take over my own store which I turn down. I'm fired without notice before my shift starts three days after coming back from a severe covid sickness.

But it's not all bad news I was hired by the competition two days afterwards for the same money and better benefits. And I can honestly say I am so much happier at this new place than I was the old place getting fired was probably the best thing that could have happened LOL
