The new owner of the dispensary I was the media manager at (in Michigan, it’s legal, don’t worry) started in May and kept saying seriously bigoted and gross things. Ranging from screaming the N word to complaining about how sick he was of the “queers taking over”. I filed a complaint with the EEOC and he fired me 2 days later over it. I thought filing EEOC complaints and even discussing the discriminatory behavior with other employees was legally protected? I kinda miss working for giant corporations because I felt like they were held to a different standard and I had recourse when issues came up. Here, it’s just me VS the owner. Sucks!!
