I'm still sick about this situation. I landed an entry position at my dream type of job/company (space) with a huge increase in pay compared to my regular work, and was fired after a month working there because they made mistakes but were too embarrassed to lay people off instead. Long story short we had a lot of training and classes to do before getting on the job, so as we did all that. About 3 weeks in we all realized something was going on.. the learning had stopped, we were asked to “study” the last thing we did over and over every day. People started leaving early, getting frustrated, etc. The atmosphere quickly became very sour. Then out of nowhere after a month (2 weeks of doing literally nothing no more learning) I was fired and learned other people were too for no reason other than “performance evaluation”. Well I actually have a friend that works there who was able to enlighten me on the situation. Apparently they had hired way too many people, and to hide it from everyone they performed this “performance evaluation” on brand new employees, that I remind you hadn't even started doing their actual job yet, whom were already getting frustrated and very very bored, and decided to fire them and ruin any chances of them finding another job with this company at another location, and also tarnishing their reputation for future employees to possibly learn that they we're somehow bad enough to be fired after just 1 month at this place… This is something I never would have expected from such a big well known space company, and the whole situation still has me sick to my stomach and wanting justice….. Obviously that will probably never happen though, I guess it's back to mediocre wages and job hunting for me…. I'm really starting to see no hope ahead.
