I recently worked at a store that rhymes with Casey’s a big department store, but was fired because of a hospital stay. I have been having problems beforehand with my manager because of a disability with my illnesses, mental and physical, which required frequent bathroom breaks. She did not want to supply them to me. I also got in trouble every time I was in the bathroom. This time, I had a three day voluntary mental hospital visit due to extreme depression, you know what I mean. Before I entered, I called my manager and let her know I would be out for the week. She said OK to bring back a doctors note. When I came back I found out that I had been fired for three no call no shows. That’s wrong, because I already told my manager that I was going to be the hospital! I have no idea what is going on. I contacted three lawyers and all three of them said they would not be able to help me. I also live in Florida Which is a fire at will state. I don’t know what to do. If anybody has the same experience, please let me know that I’m not alone! Thank you for listening to my rant. TLDR; I got fired for going to the hospital.
