Last week I went for a job interview at a bagel place. I have applied to hundreds of jobs, had six interviews, and “start work” Wednesday. But here is my dilemma. My interview for this place last week took all of five minutes. He set me up to start training on Wednesday of this week. He didn’t tell me to bring ID , ss card etc. the guy who interviewed before me came in when I was there and asked him what the pay was and he said they would talk about it “when he came in tomorrow”
So my question is, is this a “training interview”? How long can they keep me for? At what point do I demand getting paid? This is New York State US.
Also it’s a bagel shop. Not that complicated I’m sure since I’ve worked at the bux
