I recently applied for a night shift position at a major grocery store line. The concept of the job is simple. I am in need of work close to my home. I arrive for my first shift at 12am on the dot and meet the other crew. Instead of telling me the goal of the job the guy starts telling me to load items by cart in which aisle they go. This would require me within 30min to know where every item is in the store. I begin doing this and the guy pulls me aside because I placed the canned pineapple next to the juice. He says “Hey man don’t fucking bullshit me cause the last guy did and he’s not here”. “This doesn’t go here”. I then call him out on it being the first 45 min of my first shift and this is bullshit. I restrain. Grab a drink and continue.
I work the full shift through the most bullshit ever. Trainer was no where to be found. Kept bringing shit up that I didn’t do like saying I’m leaving trash around the store ?! Not organizing my trash that will immediately go in a trash compactor. There’s many other similar events like this throughout the entire shift. I asked to speak to HR at the end and he walks into the break room and asks me what my problem is. I tell him he’s extremely disrespectful and has no clue how to communicate nor train people and he tells me he’s not babysitter. Lol. This is the guy who’s training me on my first day ever. Then he says he didn’t give me a tour of the store because I didn’t ask. Laughable experience. I won’t be returning.
