So, I'll be getting a gradual promotion over the next few months (the department is growing and my duties will grow with it) and I'll be in a supervisory position for the first time. I don't want to end up being one of those managers/supervisors that people hate.
I'll be overseeing a team of 3-4 people in a warehouse environment. I'll have the department supervisor and assistant supervisor above me. From my understanding, my duties will be ordering materials, keeping track of projects, and making sure people are making progress and doing okay.
Is there any advice you could give me about being a good manager? I'm not in charge of vacation, hiring or firing, or hours.
