I see so many posts that go like
Boomer: I'd have died and gone to heaven to have $15 an hour when I was your age back in 1970! You're so greedy!
Millennial: $15 when you were my age is $53 today! Inflation is real!
I think that dilutes how much these elderly wage slaves can relate to it. $15 was a lot back then, $53 is still a lot, it loses contrast. However if you flip it around, it can be more relatable.
Boomer: I'd have died and gone to heaven to have $15 an hour when I was your age back in 1970! You're so greedy!
Millennial: Today's minimum wage, back when you were my age, would work out to be $0.99, the same year they increased minimum wage to $1.45.
That makes the numbers, and the political action of their day, much more relevant to them, not only are today's workers earning less, but “back in their day”, they actually did something about it!
