I just learned that FMLA only protects you if:
1. The company has 50+ employees
2. You have worked for that company for 12 months
Can someone explain to me why that 12 month period exists? The standard for benefit allowance is generally 90 days. I don't understand why I don't qualify when I've been battling cancer for 4 years. I'm just fucked because I got a new job less than a year ago…how does that make sense?
