“Forget fast paced, this is a warp-speed work environment.”

I had an interview yesterday for an administrative assistant position. At ome point, the interviewer said to me “you wouldn't just be joining a fast paced environment – we operate at warp speed. I've told people that the office is fast paced and then heard …you didn't say it was this fast paced.” What the actual fuck? Who wants to work at “warp speed” all the time? That sounds like a recipe for burning out in 2 years if you're lucky. Why can't we just work at a normal pace that doesn't make us want to kill ourselves? Then the interviewer had the balls to ask me what I do outside of work in my downtime because “the firm values work life balance. Lol
