So here’s my story. I’m not gonna disclose what store and what country
I left apple retail after many years. Couldn’t take it anymore with there shit. Thing is : from the outside. It looks pretty awesome ! Biggest tech company in the world, awesome products (well ..) the first years were ok. Great team. Good management. It was fun and enjoyable ! Then some cracks appeared. Management ^ they moved away the old guys and got new ones. Number addicts. Sales. No support whatsoever when a customer started to be angry at you (and trust me : it’s a daily routine when you work there) we had a guy for exemple. Apple loves to train you to be aware of harrasment : if you see it : tell your managers. That’s what I did : I’ve reported several times so major pervs in my store. Nothing happened whatsoever. One of them got fired a month later (not for the harassment no no) they found out he was stealing money : so for apple : money is more important than the safety of it’s safe however : you’d be in big trouble for not making your sexual harrasment training !
Another thing : how to get raised or to get a new position. No matter what : it’s all about our friendly you are with your manager. If they don’t like you : you get jackshit : doesn’t matter your sales number, you customer satisfaction ratings, you business introduction number. If you don’t hang out like a pet with them : you’re dead. I’ve found out one of the manager was having parties outside work with a small group of employees (his pets) them guys would evolve and get all the benefits of it. Normally ; apple doesn’t allow this : but hey : who cares right
Another thing : the inclusion and diversity : starting around the death of George Floyd. Apple started to be the flagship of all causes. Which is good on the paper ! Don’t get me wrong. The way they did it tho.
However : with this in mind : apple would promote gay, colored employees to new positions. No matter they sales numbers.
So what did I do ? I’ve never oppressed anyone myself. Well I left the company. Could stand that hypocrisie. No matter what companies like apple would say : if they sell inclusive products : it’s just about the money. They don’t care abou the people
All they want is good PR
So yeah. I’m not the only one : countless people quited. And I’m DONE with this bullshit
