Found a better job, how should I quit my old one?

I'm a food service worker who makes $16.40/hr in a very stressful environment, and was offered a less-stressful position for $18/hr today. During the interview I got very good vibes from the coworkers and management there. I'm so excited to be free of this chapter of my life. I start on the 26th. I'm due at my old job tomorrow, but I have no plans of working this week as my finances are in order enough for me to take a week off to just recalibrate. I still have to turn in my things, though, and I'm not sure how to best go about it. I feel so awkward showing up to my shift and turning my things in. It's a manipulative workplace and I'm really afraid of the confrontation, especially since there's customers within earshot at all times. I could use some advice. ๐Ÿ™‚
