So I got a call on my work number from a telemarketer trying to advertise recruiting services, but they asked if we were still hiring for the role. She then said my exact position, of which there is only one of, so I know my job is trying to replace me.
The ad is posted from a separate account than all of our other job ads, I’m guessing in an attempt to hide it from me. Guess they didn’t anticipate I would answer a telemarketer call.
I work from home, but honestly I’m trying to juggle doing two jobs in one; staffing/client relations as well as recruiting/hiring. Other than myself, my boss and her husband are the only other office employees since they own the business. It’s a super stressful job and they keep me in a Zoom meeting the entire day with the camera on, even if we are not talking, which makes it even more stressful.
I’ve obviously already started the job hunt for something else, and I’m glad I caught it before they hired anyone. But any other advice on what I should do would be appreciated. I feel like I have somewhat of an upper hand knowing about it before it’s going to happen.
Edit: I should mention that over the past few years, there have been MANY people in my seat. I’ve managed to make it here longer than anyone before me and I’ve only been with the company since September of last year. I didn’t know this going in or I would have turned it down, but alas, here I am.
