Just note that this isn't one of those “I have this friend…” and it turns out to be me. My friend isn't on reddit and I'm trying to help her out.
Short version of the story: My friend walks into work one day and is immediately told to go home because “it's not working out.” She immediately files for unemployment and is denied due to breaking a reasonable rule. No other explanation is given. She's currently filing an appeal and swears up and down that IF she broke a rule, nobody informed her. She is also sending out a letter today to request a copy of her personal file. Is there anything else she can do in the time being or just sit and wait for the appeal process? I'm inclined to believe her because she's a very straight forward person and the industry she worked for (in home care) is a bit shady in our area.
