Fun story for you guys that I’ve been living

So I’ve been working at this new sandwich shop for almost a year now (he opened in April 2021 so I started when It was pretty fresh) as the only employee most shifts 4 days a week. I work alongside my boss everyday except for Saturdays where he would have some rotating group of flaky high school kids come in and pay them cash. As a college graduate with a business degree, I saw this job as an opportunity to practice growing small businesses because I want to own and advise other business one day. I’ve gone above and beyond my call of duty as a minimum wage “cashier” (tips are f*ing great!). I have provided so much knowledge and creative ideas to bring customers in and increase a more productive work flow. and offer all of my support. Anything technical? He can not do It and It is now…

He can not do It and It is now my job. I don’t mind at all. I’m getting a lot of valuable experience learning and doing first hand what It takes to make a food business functional and successful. There has been great growth since I started and the option for me to buy the shop within a year come up, which would be great!

However, if you are still reading, let me talk about my boss. Everyday he comes into work with the same egocentric negative attitude about the world. He constantly talks down on people even if he doesn’t know who he’s talking about. Unripe avocado? “These fing aholes!” Doesn’t pay attention and orders too much bread? “These fing aholes!” Customer has a special request? “P*ssy”. Between him swearing at everyone and everything I am forced to hear him provide his out of thin air opinions and gimmicks on how to make money. Today he said the only way to “make It” is to make peanut milk because thats what a shop in the same building did in the 80’s. He’s always yelling and swearing within an earshot of customers and makes it very awkward to be there.

Along with this He’s very bad with finances and now he has himself on the payroll so he can take HALF MY TIPS! I want to walk out because this post doesn’t even express his toxicity. However, I don’t want to lose my opportunity to buy the shop. I know I can sue him for this and for me never taking 1 single unpaid break since I started, but I really want to be sure the payout will be worth It.

Im just here to vent a little and tell my story. I know a lot of you will tell me to walk out and that will screw him over immensely because of how dependent he is on me. Obviously I wont turn over the menus files I made for his new tvs.
Others will tell me to sue. Which also means walking out. No way im suing and staying lol.

Say something or ask a question if u read this whole novel. Thanks frens
