Just an FYI, I love my job and they treat us well, non-toxic work environment. We got a pizza party with a half day off. But to put it in comparison, as an employee I would would rather spend $500 to feed 30 employees free lunch and get their good will instead of giving even 1 employee a $1 raise. I'll take free food any day, but if they say they appreciate you, I also better be getting a raise by next review.
