I’ve worked at this company for nearly a year, I had a near perfect attendance with like 3-4 late days, I would come in on weekends and help after hours, I was the perfect employee when he had people quit without notice, just stopped showing up, or would apply but never show up.
Im going back to school, so I thought I would give them one more week of work because they were going out of town to a big job we’ve been working on for a while. I didn’t want to leave my coworkers in the shit so I thought it would be nice and respectful to at least show I cared. But no, he’s mad I didn’t tell him yesterday before I consulted with my family, before I asked them if it was okay.
This guy honestly perplexes me. I’ve never had to quit a long term job like this, I was laid off because of Covid so I’ve never had to really quit, and I thought I did it correctly by telling my supervisor because he wasn’t in today. I didn’t want to tell him over text or a phone call because it seems rude to me.
Then there’s the story from this past Thursday, which almost made me quit on the spot. We have a rental truck that was pissing out coolant, he says fuck it and sends us on a different job out of town, and about half way through the cab of the truck is getting uncomfortably warm, and then we get a tornado watch alert over the radio and our phones, saying we are in the path.
I don’t know anymore.
