I work for “Wickey D's” and for some damn reason, they keep understaffing for the post-school rush. There's supposed to be AT LEAST 3 people on the floor(window, front counter, and putting food in the right bags) but there's always just the 2 and when one is not busy, we jump in to help the other. Anyway, I got in my 8hrs for the day and wanted to go home. The post-school mini-rush was ongoing and I ended up working 10 minutes over. The manager, super nice and understanding, completely understood and told me I was a good worker before I clocked out; I left her with a half-full drive thru and people on the front counter. If it was the other manager, they woulda made me stay for an extra 40 or 50 minutes cuz “you leave when I say you leave.” I could be about to piss myself or menstruate through my clothes and they'd tell me to stay. Keep in mind, I come in on my off days whenever they tell me to and when they assign me a task, I never complain and just do it even when it's lifting something heavy or hauling the leaky garbage bags. I don't goof off or clock in late. Basically, most of the managers at my Wicky D's take advantage of the fact that I don't complain and do my job well. They know they can leave me on the floor to rush around doing the work of 2 or more people so they can smoke out front and come back to a functioning store.
