Girlfriend doesn’t realize she should be getting more money for more work

My girlfriend started a new job at a major heavy machinery dealer as a branch administrator back in March. She’s been telling me many times that she does way too much work and should be paid more. Yesterday she tells me they asked her if she could manage the reopening novelty store in the coming weeks, she says yes and is very excited. I told her that’s great and asked if it came with a raise. She said she’s on salary and that’s not how it works. We’ve been arguing ever since, I say more work should mean more pay regardless of whether it’s hourly or salary. The wage she agreed to was for the job she’s been doing, adding this whole other position should come with some kind of perk, but she says she will get it back with bonuses and that some day she’ll be a big boss at this place and then it will all be worth it. I’ve tried explaining to her that they’re just going to continue exploiting her and it’s never going to come back to her. I don’t know what to do. She’s really mad that I think she should be getting paid more rather than just waiting to get the ‘thanks’ she thinks is coming her way.

Edit: We’re in Ontario if that makes a difference
