I work for a Government organization at the state level, union and everything. I wont day where or which but you go there to get your driver's license. Over the past few months I have had a rough go of it, mother was diagnosed with cancer, had to suddenly scramble and replace my car, and work itself has been a cluster. So in 4 MONTHS I took a total of 7 sick days. I had the time and I still habe over 45 hours banked. I called out each time over two hour before the day started each time.
I suddenly get a written warning saying I'm “abusing” sick leave and for the next 90 days I have to provide a doctor's note for any call outs or face further discipline. The worst part? The Union says they can do this.
7 days in 4 months is “abusing” the system? Go fuck yourself.
