I just quit my job because my manager said I wasn’t pushing work out fast enough after my MIL passed away from COVID and my brother died of fentanyl in the same week.
It’s been a tough year already, and I’m glad that I’m not there anymore. My former boss had no kind of sympathy and was only worried about the bottom line.
I was training a new guy this year and thought everything was okay. Slowly but surely I kept getting bombarded with paperwork. Trying to keep it together the weeks following my family’s heartbreak. I got into the office Monday morning and I got a work email saying that we are going to have a meeting in an hour. I’m not thinking anything about it mind you. I figure it’s a normal meeting.
I walk into my former boss’s office and they immediately close the door behind me. At first it was going okay until my boss looked at me and said that my performance has dipped a bit these past 2 weeks and he’s wondering why ? WTF?! Are you serious right now ?! Goes into details on how associate’s are standing around waiting on me to get the work out. I’m speechless and just disgusted. I get up and tell my boss and the other supervisors that MY MENTAL HEALTH is way more important then this POS job and that he can find someone else to train the new guy and replace me. I walked out immediately from his office and gathered my things and left. I wasn’t wrong was I ?
