Goal Setting BS

I’ve been working for this company for a year and I’ll admit, it’s not a terrible place. Reasonable pay, decent benefits, approachable managers. But now I’m doing my performance management goals for next year and getting increasingly pissed off. There’s an expectation that we take on a project that goes above and beyond our job description. The fuck? What is the point of a job description when you have an actual corporate policy saying you should be doing more than your job description. And I will 100% not meet the goals I set because there’s more work than can possibly be done on a day-to-day basis. Just once I want to work somewhere where “professional growth” isn’t mandated. Are there workplaces that don’t buy into this kind of nonsense? Because I’ve yet to find one.
