When I applied to the Goldman Sachs summer internship, I got an email asking me to take a technical assessment. Time allotment? 3 HOURS! Well, I take it. And hear nothing back from Goldman Sachs for weeks. They expect me to spend three hours on their application, and yet can't take five minutes to respond?
I'm in the 99th percentile in both math and programming (based on competitions), so I know I aced the technical assessment. I get fed up waiting so I email them, asking for an update or interview. They respond back a few days later with a generic “we have high volumes of applications” email.
Finally, another week passes, I get an update on my application: “Application denied.” Nothing else. No explanation. Just denied. I emailed them for more information; “Unfortunately, per firm policy we're unable to provide any candidate feedback.”
What a complete waste of my time. Is there anywhere I can post a negative review to shield other job seekers from their predatory practice?
