Goldman Sachs CEO so stressed out from making millions that he needs to DJ in order to relax

Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon landed a performance slot along music megastars at this summer Lollapalooza festival — despite what professionals reportedly described as middling skills as a DJ. In a podcast appearance last December, Solomon said DJing “helps him relax.” “I have this analytical side of my mind that helps me with my biz professional career,” Solomon told “The Sound of Success with Nic Harcourt”. “But I haven’t had a lot of opportunities to stimulate the artistic creative side of my brain and it makes me feel good.” At Goldman, Solomon’s total pay includes an annual base salary of $2 million and a variable compensation of $33 million. Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon landed a performance slot along music megastars at this summer Lollapalooza festival — despite what professionals reportedly described as middling skills as a DJ.

In a podcast appearance last December, Solomon said DJing “helps him relax.”

“I have this analytical side of my mind that helps me with my biz professional career,” Solomon told “The Sound of Success with Nic Harcourt”. “But I haven’t had a lot of opportunities to stimulate the artistic creative side of my brain and it makes me feel good.”

At Goldman, Solomon’s total pay includes an annual base salary of $2 million and a variable compensation of $33 million.

Meanwhile, bank stocks have fallen sharply so far this year even after bumper results on the back of a banner year for mergers-and-acquisitions.

That’s because they also reported sharply higher expenses — in large part because of the fat pay packages they’re doling out in a tight labor market.
