The term “hard working” is disgusting

I was reading job descriptions and a lot of them want people who are “hard working”. Imagine wanting anything to be hard. Put it in the context of a relationship. On the first date you say “I want our relationship to be hard. I want us to have to put in a lot of hard work to keep it going.” Major red flags, GTFO. Or in the context of buying a car. The salesperson says “Yep, it's a great car but it'll be hard work keeping it running.” I'd tell the salesman GFY. But (most) people are brainwashed into thinking being a “hard worker” is a good thing. I don't want to be a “hard” worker. I want to be a lazy, soft and comfortable worker. I want to do things most efficiently and effectively, not act as if I'm busy and the job is stressful. Fuck working culture, and…

Imagine wanting anything to be hard.

Put it in the context of a relationship. On the first date you say “I want our relationship to be hard. I want us to have to put in a lot of hard work to keep it going.”

Major red flags, GTFO.

Or in the context of buying a car. The salesperson says “Yep, it's a great car but it'll be hard work keeping it running.”

I'd tell the salesman GFY.

But (most) people are brainwashed into thinking being a “hard worker” is a good thing.

I don't want to be a “hard” worker. I want to be a lazy, soft and comfortable worker. I want to do things most efficiently and effectively, not act as if I'm busy and the job is stressful.

Fuck working culture, and fuck any boss who creates a “hard working” environment. If that's the case, then they need to hire more people to make the working environment a mere “working” environment.
