I recently got out of the military and found a job in the insurance industry. I read the posts on this page multiple times a day. I am a r/antiwork supporter as much as they come. I was very careful in my job search after I left the military and have landed the best job. I pretty much make my own schedule and am free to do what I please as long as I hit my quotas. I’ve got 3 bosses and they are all very easy to work for, so much so that I had qualified for a little over $800 in bonuses this month and the owners came together and just decided to give me a check for $1000 because they were appreciative of the work I’d done since I started. I guess the reason I wanted to post this on here was to maybe give an insight to the others on here that are trying to find hourly paying jobs. Commission based jobs (like an insurance agent) can be very lucrative and a good fit for someone who is a hard worker but may have trouble conforming to a schedule or the idea of an hourly rate. In commission you get paid for how hard you work. Some months are good and some are bad but it’s more rewarding because you know you earned every cent that came your way. Again, not here to brag and boast, but to suggest some sort of sales career. Licenses aren’t terribly hard to obtain, and it can be life changing.
